Upgrading Gear

So you want to upgrade your gear. Not satisfied with that cheap piece of steel? You've come to the right place. Hardwork and a little bit of luck will turn your weapons into killing machines and your armor into powerful protection

All armor and weapons within Last Chaos begin at +0. Different kinds of upgrade stones will allow you to upgrade your gear. As you add upgrades your gear will begin to visually change as it becomes imbued with greater and greater power. See below for examples of this transformation.

Upgrade Glow Example

A lowly +0 titan sword, no glow here
A small glow can be seen on this +5 sword
Feel the red power from this +10 sword
The raw power of lightning shoots from this +15 sword

Stones are used to upgrade items BELOW Level 146. You can find these stones on the dead bodies of vanquished beasts, by participating in the Sunday Quiz, buying them from other players and the Item Mall.

Upgrade Stones Explained

Smelting Stones

The most basic of the upgrade stones. These stones have different levels. You can break down your unwanted gear down into smelting stones by speaking with the "Transmuter" in Dratan and Juno. Smelting Stones have a 33% chance of success

Heaven Stones

These are the second level of upgrade stones and the most popular among the people of Iris. Heaven stones have a 50% chance of success Heaven stones can be purchased in the Item Mall and can be found on the bodies of fallen monsters.

Lucky Smelting Stones

Lucky smelting stones form the backbone of any good upgrading strategy. 100% success and the ability to upgrade from +1 up to +6 make these stones very valuable. Lucky smelting stones have a 100% chance of success from +1 up to +6.

Extreme Stones

Extreme stones can be used ONCE on any piece of armor with the "Able to use extreme stone" ability. Plan your extreme stone use carefully as these can be used only once per item. Extreme stones have a 100% chance of success for +1 up to +14. You can acquire extreme stones from fellow players or from gaining reputation points.

Chaos Smelting Stones

The king of all upgrade stones. Chaos smelting stones have a 100% chance of success up to +12 and can be used multiple times. These rare stones can be found in the Item Mall and from fellow Irisians.

Runes are used to upgrade gear ABOVE level 145. You can find these runes in Mondshine on the dead bodies of your enemies (NPC Monsters) or in the Item Mall.
